Egg count down, Cold taking toll?

We were discussing whether we ought to bring the chickens in to the barn with the extreme cold.  There were only 3 eggs today, and one was cracked from the cold.   In the end we opted to let the hens tough it out.  They seem to enjoy the sun, which is in short supply indoors.

Some of the hens are still molting.  They won’t lay eggs during molt.  But they, and we, are looking forward to more temperate weather.  Above freezing temps are predicted for the weekend in Bippus.
