Seed Order Whittled Down to Four

Well, it is never as easy as you think it is going to be, getting your garden seed order done.  In order to keep costs down, I inventoried all the seed I have on site. (Yeah, ALL of it. I found more zucchini seed uh, yesterday)… And really, I really only needed broccoli and okra seed.  And , oh yeah, some open pollenated sweet corn.

But, Ya’Know, on Second Thought

It would be sweet to grow some Hops. (Yes, the hops are used in brewing beer.)  And Dad used to grow some badass Horseradish, what he called “chrzan”, which is a requirement when eating kielbasa sandwiches.  And, yeah, I DO have some garlic bulbs that I saved to plant, but they are NOT the *Jumbo-Giant Elephant* Garlics that grow to be one pound.  And one pound garlic bulbs gets me pretty dog-gone excited.

And we are about to run out of *Un-Yawns* …

as they say on those Cajun Cookin Shows on Tee-Wee.  It is only February, dad-gum-it, we ought not be running out of UnnYawn so soon.  May as well order more onions set than last year.  Well, Right?  And Yes, I fell prey to Schumway’s Sweet Pea Collection.  Ayup.  For 5 & 3/4 federal reserve notes you get FOUR packages of their most popular sweet pea varieties.  Who doesn’t love sweet peas, anyway?

And when you are placing your vegey seed orders, y’always take advantage of the 1/2 price vegetable sampler, don’cha?

Yeah, me too.

It is just NEVER easy.  All those pretty colored vegetables.  All that tasty description.  Excuse me while I take a run to the kitchen.

BTW- the thermometer bottomed out at -10 F this morning.  And the chickens didn’t like that one bit.
